2011 Newbery and Caldecott Medal Winners Announced!
On Monday January 10, the American Library Association announced its choices for the winner of the 2011 Newbery Medal and the 2011 Caldecott Medal. 2011 Newbery Medal winner is Clare Vanderpool for her book Moon Over Manifest. 2011 Caldecott Medal winner is Erin E. Stead for her illustration of A Sick Day for Amos McGee. Both new books for me and I look forward to reading them!

Great News for Fans of Hugo Cabret!
Scholastic has announced that in the fall they will release a new book,Wonderstruck, by author and illustrator Brian Selznick, who won the 2008 Randolph Caldecott Medal for The Invention of Hugo Cabret.
